The Stories Behind BEAMS 50th

In celebration of BEAMS’ 50th anniversary, BEAMS BOY and orSlow come together once again for a special collection rooted in their shared appreciation for vintage clothing. The two brands have collaborated for many years, reinterpreting familiar vintage styles through the distinct perspective of BEAMS BOY and orSlow’s approach to Japanese denim. For this anniversary collection, that relationship is explored through two longtime favorites: the Monroe Pants and Monroe Jacket. Both styles are finished with a special “50th Used Wash,” developed to recreate the character of denim shaped by decades of wear. Natural fading, softness and subtle signs of age give each piece the feeling of a well-loved vintage garment.

Monroe Pants

Inspired by women’s denim from the 1940s and ’50s, the Monroe Pants are one of orSlow’s signature styles.

The pants are made from orSlow’s original selvedge denim, slowly woven on traditional shuttle looms in Japan and dyed with pure indigo. The fabric has a soft, comfortable feel, while the high rise and relaxed proportions give the style its distinctive silhouette.

For this special edition, the “50th Used Wash” brings out the natural character of the denim, creating the fading and worn-in texture of a pair that feels as though it has been lived in for years.

Monroe Jacket

The Monroe Jacket takes its cues from Type I denim jackets of the 1940s, reworked with proportions that give the classic workwear silhouette a distinctly BEAMS BOY feel.

Like the pants, it is made from orSlow’s original pure indigo selvedge denim, woven on traditional shuttle looms for a soft, supple texture and rich depth of color.

The “50th Used Wash” gives the jacket the character of a vintage piece from the very first wear, while the nature of the indigo denim allows it to continue evolving and becoming more personal over time.
