BIAS DOGS
Launched in Fall 2021 at Dover Street Market, BIAS DOGS introduces a disruptive design approach rooted in the spirit of 1980s New York appropriation art.
Led by designer Kei Tanaka, the brand blends sampling, cut-up techniques, and remix culture to transform overly polished expression into something more raw, more real. Each product channels unpredictable energy—colliding visual languages and cultural references to create new meaning.
Tanaka began his creative career in the late ’90s as a visual jockey in Tokyo’s club scene, later producing visuals for brands like Dior, ISSEY MIYAKE, DKNY, and Nike. He has collaborated with SK8THING, contributed to film and music video projects, and in 2015, founded the graphic design studio GATHERING INC.
Recent collaborations include work with DJ Harvey, Mark Ronson, Futura, Virgil Abloh, and Mild Bunch. His work reflects a continuous loop of input and output—an evolving remix of contemporary culture.
