About Emilio Chavez:
Emilio Chavez is an artist from Seattle, Washington, now based in New York, specializing in photography, video, and oil painting. His artistic practice emphasizes a hands-on approach, utilizing tangible mediums such as prints, zines, cyanotypes, and screen prints. For this collaboration with BEAMS T, various images from Emilio's extensive archive were incorporated, including Hi8 video stills, film photographs, and uniquely printed labels. The labels themselves were hand-dyed with various pigments, intentionally retaining variations and irregularities to add a distinctive, organic touch. This special collection comprises two items, each highlighting Emilio's distinct photographic techniques and artistic vision.
